IDENTITY DESIGN EXHIBITION PANEL

Contatto 2021 is an exhibition that came from a meeting between the Archivio Storico Luce Cinecittà and ten photographers under 35, who took part in the "Contatto: Photography Masterclass 2021." The project paired new work from these photographers with historic shots from five of the archive's masters, building a series of diptychs that put two generations side by side. I worked on the identity, exhibition panel, leaflet and social media alongside the team.
The project was about bringing two generations of photographers into conversation; not old versus new, but a real exchange between them. The identity had to represent both sides equally, without either one taking over.
We used contrasting shapes and gradients in opposite colours to represent that exchange visually: two visual languages meeting rather than competing, in the same way the exhibition put historic and contemporary photography side by side. I worked across every touchpoint, including identity, exhibition panel, leaflet and social, and it was also my first time working on exhibition panels at this scale.
The exhibition brought together new work from the ten selected photographers and fifty photographs from the archive's masters. It was shown at WEGIL in Rome as part of Roma Fotografia 2021.
